Test #1 (Coffee)

We have received two more independent lab test results for Ai-Funan soaps and of course the results are very good.

Ai-Funan soaps are in compliance with all US FDA, China PRC and Hong Kong SAR standards for cosmetics.

Conclusion(s) : 1. The test result of submitted sample complied with the FDA regulation for use of mercury compounds (max. 1ppm) in cosmetics including use as skin bleaching agents regarding 21 CFR 700.13. 根據測試結果,所提供之樣本符合美國食物及藥 物管理局第 21 CFR 700.13 之化妝品最高汞含量 (1ppm).

2. The test results of the submitted sample complied with the GB 7916-87 Hygienic Standard for Cosmetics. 根據測試結果, 所提供之樣本符合中華人民共和國之化妝品衛生標準 GB 7916-8

Test #2 (Frangipani)

This is also an historic moment for Timor-Leste as a nation. Ai-Funan has entered a market that no other Timorese brand has achieved.

Ai-Funan is run by a woman’s cooperative in Timor-Leste making this the most successful woman’s export business ever.

Congratulations to Ai-Funan, CTID, Hummingfish and to the Canossa Sisters in Timor-Leste!!!

A little more than 40 days ago, Ai-Funan was given the opportunity to sell inflight on all 250 Cathay Pacific Airline’s flights per day an exclusive 3-pack travel box of our soap, but they had to be at the CX warehouse by the 18th of March.

Since that day, we have designed and built packaging, made 3,000 mini-bars of all natural handmade soaps, wrapped each bar individually in Timor-Leste, air-freighted them to Hong Kong, packed the soaps into individual boxes, shrink-wrapped them and delivered them to Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong. A monumental task.

This has been a full on race to the finish and our success is the result of hard work by many people from Timor-Leste, to Uganda to Singapore to Hong Kong.

This is also an historic moment for Timor-Leste as a nation. Ai-Funan has entered a market that no other Timorese export product has achieved.

We are very happy to have had the privilege of paying the soap ladies in Timor-Leate their cash dividend the other day.

All of them are supporting extended family and these cash dividends have a big impact on the lives. Not to mention increased sales and business development thanks to the Ai-Funan brand.

The ladies make a beautiful product and deserve all of it.

Several of our projects would benefit from better communications and now with cheap 3G/wifi available in most countries, we can stay in touch with our communities with apps, such as Whatsapp, email and Facebook.

The 3G/wifi networks needed to send images and data back and forth between Hummingfish and our communities is now possible and with that old Apple 3G device sitting in your drawer, we can make our projects more effective.
